Rental Information 2011
CHECK-IN. Check in is 3:00 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday, according to your reservation. Home inspections, routine maintenance, and additional cleaning take place between departure and arrival; therefore, early check-ins cannot always be accommodated. DO NOT go to your unit prior to check-in. If a vehicle is parked at the unit, the inspectors will bypass the unit and further delay your check-in. Please notify R.H. McClure Realty of any damages immediately. This assures that the appropriate parties will be held responsible. Two sets of keys will be given with each rental. If you require more sets, please let us know before arrival date.
CHECK-OUT. Check out is 10:00 a.m. sharp. Guest check-out duties (including cleaning the unit) should be completed and rental keys should be returned to our office. No one should be in the unit after keys have been returned. If you plan to leave early, please drop your keys through the drop slot located in the rental office door.
LATE ARRIVALS. Keys for late arrivals will be placed in the Late Check-in Board at our office, in an envelope listed with the last name of the reservation party. Please call ahead if you need directions to the rental unit left with your keys.
LINENS AND TOWELS ARE NOT FURNISHED. Linen rentals are available from Angie’s Linen Service (910-755-7220). They will deliver linens directly to your rental unit and pick them up upon your departure. You must call them to make arrangements directly. Please call in advance of your stay.
BOOKING A RESERVATION. A $60.00 (plus NC tax), non-refundable Reservation Fee will be charged on all reservations. This fee covers added tenant services and administration costs. This payment will be due on a Visa or Mastercard when booking your reservation. Within fifteen (15) days, a 50% deposit will be due. Credit cards are not accepted for this payment. This payment must be made by personal check, travelers check, cashier's check or money order. Final payment must be in our office thirty (30) days before arrival date. This final payment may be made by personal check, travelers check, cashier's check, money order, Visa or Mastercard. Please note, payment made with a credit card will incur a convenience fee.
ON LINE RESERVATIONS. Any reservation requests made on line are requests only. The property is not confirmed in your name until a deposit is made with a Visa or Mastercard over the phone. One of our reservationists will contact you within 24 hours to accept your deposit. Please remember that emails are not always fail safe, so please contact us if you do not hear from us within 24 hours.
LAST MINUTE RESERVATIONS. When reservations are made within one month of your arrival date, we require confirmation and payment in full with a Visa or Mastercard. No property is to be "held" with a credit card for any length of time for any reason. All reservations must be paid in full before arrival date.
SECURITY DEPOSIT. A credit card number is required in lieu of a security deposit. Should you not have a valid Visa or Mastercard, an additional, refundable security deposit of $300.00 will be required in addition to the first 50% deposit. Please report any damage immediately to avoid being charged for it. Charges to your credit card may include damage, theft, phone charges, and/or failure to clean properly upon departure. Maid service is to be paid for separately (Please see Maid Service section). You will always receive a letter explaining any charges to your credit card.
TAXES. All rentals will be charged a North Carolina tax, a local occupancy tax, and Brunswick County tax. Taxes are subject to change, so please call to ask for current tax rates.
CANCELLATIONS. If you cancel your reservation and the rental unit is re-rented for the entire period of your reservation, your deposit will be refunded, less the reservation fee and less a fifteen percent (15%) cancellation fee. If the unit is not re-rented, your deposit will be forfeited. We reserve the right to refuse rental, discontinue occupancy or refund deposits if, in the agency's opinion, such occupancy is detrimental to the premises.
CLEANING POLICY. Unless specifically stated that cleaning is included, each guest is responsible for cleaning the rental unit before departure. Guests are required to provide their own cleaning supplies. Vacuum cleaners, brooms and mops should be in the unit. Guests will be expected to leave the rental unit clean by OUR standards. Failure to do so will result in a cleaning charge to your credit card.

MAID SERVICE. Maid service is available upon request for those unit where cleaning is not included. Charges for this service are listed in our office. Maid service is to be paid in person in our office by Thursday of the week of your stay. Please read our cleaning policy so there are no misunderstanding as to responsibilities. Credit cards are not accepted as payment for maid service.
DESCRIPTIONS. All properties are individually owned, furnished, and decorated according to the owner's personal preferences. Every effort is made to ensure that information on this web site is accurate and complete; however, we cannot be held responsible for possible typographical errors or changes made by the homeowners in furnishings, equipment or bed arrangements. We reserve the right to correct such errors.
MAINTENANCE/REFUNDS. Please report any inoperative equipment to our office promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to correct the problem. Under no circumstances will there be a reduction in rent or refund for any mechanical failure of air conditioner, heating unit, dishwasher, washer, dryer, TV, VCR, DVD, blenders, toasters, coffee makers and/or any other appliance. One of the small trials of living on a barrier island is that we are often forced to wait for parts and repairs beyond what would appear routine at your home.
ADVANCE RESERVATIONS. Reservations for the following year are welcome. Our current guests do have first choice of the same rental property for the same rental week the following year. Please make these reservations in person on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of your stay. A $50.00 deposit is required on all properties. This deposit will NOT be applied towards your reservation. A rental agreement must be back in our office within 15 days of the date on the rental agreement along with the appropriate deposit, or your reservation will be cancelled. The rental price and all rental reservations are subject to approval by our owners. Advance reservations are non-transferable and non-refundable. If you would like to reserve a different property, please call our office the Tuesday following your stay, since no advance reservations will be made other than on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
TRAVEL INTERRUPTION INSURANCE. There will be no refund for inclement weather, including mandatory hurricane evacuation. For your financial protection, we highly recommend the optional purchase of travel interruption insurance to recoup your payments should your reservation have to be cancelled, or if the island authorities call for mandatory evacuation. Information will be included with your reservation.

OCCUPANCY. Please note the maximum number of people allowed in each property. We appreciate your compliance with this requirement. We do not rent to groups, house parties, sororities, fraternities, etc., only to families and couples. We do not rent to anyone under twenty five (25) years of age. We reserve the right to refuse occupancy if, in the agent's opinion, occupancy is detrimental to the property. Please do not tamper with any locked closets or other storage areas, as they are for the owner's private use.
CONSTRUCTION. Ocean Isle Beach has undergone rapid growth the past few years. Unfortunately, we cannot predict the location of all active construction on the island. There will be no refunds due to construction activity.
PETS. Unless specifically stated that the property is pet friendly, no pets of any kind will be allowed in our properties. If a pet is discovered, the guest will be asked to vacate immediately without any refunds, and a fee will be charged to your credit card to cover the cost of cleaning and spraying. NOTE: Windjammer Condos are not pet friendly. Any renter found with a pet on the Windjammer grounds will be charged a regular pet fee, plus a $250.00 fine levied by the Windjammer Association.
GARBAGE PICK-UP. Please pull carts to street for pick up on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, during June, July and August.
BEACH EQUIPMENT. The Town of Ocean Isle Beach prohibits the use of cabanas, canopies, tents or awnings on the beach at any time. All personal items must be removed from the strand at the end of each day. Any personal item left on the beach between 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. will be removed and disposed of by the town.
SWIMMING POOLS. Most pools are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The opening and closing times vary and are at the discretion of the Property Owners Associations. Periodically, pools are closed for maintenance without prior notice.
